Techno mythicism

Techno Mythicism is an interactive AR piece presented with a holy relic.
Humanity has always created myths to explain the incomprehensible. Our lack of understanding gives rise to belief. Today, we face a new mystery: artificial intelligence. Not knowing how AI truly functions, we have constructed a modern mythology around it, creating a religious-like dynamic of unconditional faith.
Whenever humans have questions, AI provides answers, positioning itself as both oracle and deity. We consult our digital gods with the same fervent trust our ancestors once reserved for ancient prophecies.
This work presents a holy relic for this emerging virtual religion: a physical monument to the very real phenomenon of AI worship. It draws inspiration from Moogoo (Korean shamanic ritual implements), sacred vessels, and the transcendent aspirations of Gothic architecture.
Audiences are invited to kneel on a ritual cloth to access the AR experience. Through this interaction, the work asks us to reflect: how do we interpret this phenomenon? What does it mean to ‘worship’ what we cannot fully understand?
The piece neither condemns nor celebrates our dependence on AI, but instead creates a space for recognition and reflection on humanity’s eternal dance between mystery and meaning.
