With wit, charm, and a wealth of knowledge, our film takes visitors to the water-themed park at the Krimml Waterfalls on a cinematic journey through the water cycle. Told from the perspective of an old, wise water droplet, young “droplet children” experience how water first came to Earth and how the magnificent Krimml Waterfalls were formed.
Over the course of the four seasons, the fascinating natural scenery of the Hohe Tauern National Park unfolds—at times wild and powerful, at other times calm and dreamlike. In a playful and easily understandable way, the film imparts essential knowledge about the importance of water for this unique region, right at the start of the visitors’ journey.
Presented in CinemaScope on a large screen, the result is an impressive cinematic experience—family-friendly, exciting, and educational at the same time. A surprising twist at the end invites reflection and leaves a lasting impression.
Implementation
To meet the project’s requirements, the film was designed to present scientifically grounded content in an engaging and accessible way. The impressive power of the Krimml Waterfalls and the unique diversity of flora and fauna in the Hohe Tauern National Park are brought to life through visually striking imagery. Animated characters guide viewers through the story, creating an emotional connection to the subject matter. In addition, fully 3D-animated sequences were purposefully integrated to illustrate scientific processes and scenarios that cannot be captured using conventional camera techniques. This approach successfully combines knowledge transfer with an immersive experience, appealing to a broad audience.
