Anesthesia

The sound material was recorded in the operating room during a real surgery. The sound sources were: an anesthesia monitor, various medical instruments, doctors discussing the operation, and auxiliary electrical devices. I was interested in recording these sources in action, in a natural environment. In the project, you can hear, for example, how a doctor looks for the right instrument, the patient’s real pulse, the somewhat eerie suction of liquid by the pump, random noises, and the hum of the hospital. Some sounds were altered beyond recognition during the processing (for example, the sound of tools being rearranged in the project sounds both in its original form and as a bright, magical ringing). The main technique used to create the composition is editing.
