Airplanned is a project aimed at building a realistic, remotely piloted LEGO model aircraft paired with a motion platform that visually reproduces its flight movements. The aircraft features retractable landing gear, a movable cabin, a rear ramp, independent engine thrust, and flap control, all flown via a joystick-style panel. To make the flight visible and tangible, we’re building a 3-axis motion stand (pitch, roll, yaw) that mirrors the aircraft’s movements in real time, similar in principle to professional flight-simulator rigs but compact and low-cost. The whole system runs on Arduino microcontrollers, with commands sent wirelessly between the control panel and the aircraft/stand. The result is a fully synced ground-control experience: move the joystick, and both the plane’s parts and the stand respond together — combining embedded systems, robotics, and wireless control into one working demo.
