Open Call for Design Proposals for Installations within the International Forum “Computer Space”

Topic: Light painting

Computer Space is a non-commercial, international festival of computer arts. Every year, artistic projects that represent the synthesis between art, science and technology are displayed within its framework. This year we are issuing an open call for project proposals from young authors for installations on the theme of “Light painting”.

The main requirement is to emphasize the phenomenon of light. These can be installations containing light sources, projectors, screens, mapping, virtual or augmented reality, etc. All installations will be placed in a darkened space and must be autonomous (not requiring the constant presence of an operator).

The exhibition will be held within 3 days, during the festival part of “Computer space” in Sofia on 26-28.10.2023.

Projects will be reviewed by the Computer Space Organizing Committee. Each approved project will receive financial support of up to BGN 1,000.

Proposal Requirements:

– Installations must contain the element of light;

– To be autonomous (not to require the constant presence of an operator);

– Proposals must be original and created within the last 2 years;

– Installations should be able to be displayed during “Computerspace”.

– Individual and collective projects of authors up to 35 years old are allowed;

Documents:

– Portfolio and CV;

– Idea project (up to 2 pages);

– Budget;

– Visual materials – sketch, photo, if applicable;

Evaluation criteria:

– The subject of the project must be in accordance with the requirements;

– Originality of the idea and artistic qualities;

– Justification of the idea;

– Applicability of the idea (realization);

– Realism of the budget;
