This was the 21st consecutive year during which many prizes were given in the frame of the international computer arts forum “Computer Space” (www.computerspace.org). The prizes were software and hardware products and xBox from Microsoft-Bulgaria, iPod nano from BBS-Apple VAD for Bulgaria, .Net magazine subscriptions and many more. The XXI edition of the forum is organized by SCAS and Computer art center in partnership with many prestigious institutions and organizations, such as the Ministry of education, youth and science, Municipality programme "Culture", British council – Bulgaria, Microsoft-Bulgaria, BBS-Apple VAD for Bulgaria and other organizations. The awarding ceremony was held in the National gallery for foreign art, and was honored by the presence of members of the government, greetings were sent by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. The festival part took place in the Czech Centre and the Hungarian Cultural Institute and comprised a lot of interesting events: robotics workshops, interactive installations and presentation of projects, specialized lectures on topics such as computer art, social networks and e-portfolio (www.computerspace.org). All the nominees in the nine categories are listed below: Categories: Computer Animation, Computer Graphics, Computer and electronic Music, Offline Multimedia,Web design: art & culture, Web design: society & institutions, Web design: entertainment & hobby, Web design: technology & market, Web design: information & media.

Computer Space is one of the barometers of computer arts tendencies. Combining the competition part with festival section provides wide range of opportunities to artists, companies, studios and organizations to present their best projects in the field of computer graphics, animation, multimedia, electronic music and web design. Traditionally, the main focus of the 21st edition of Computer Space festival will be the official awarding ceremony (29.10) in which awards will be bestowed to the winners in the nine categories of the competition (www.computerspace.org).
The main topics of the specialized seminars (30-31.10) taking place in the frame of the festival are “Computer Animation” and “ePortfolio and the Virtual Identity”. During these seminars over twenty well-known experts from different countries, as well as young artists will present their work and share their experience in the field of computer arts with lectures, presentations, workshops, installations and exhibitions. |
